- Lodge a FIR
The first thing to do if you have lost your PAN card is to lodge a First Information Report (FIR) at the nearest police station. This step is important as it serves as proof that your PAN card has been lost or stolen.
- Apply for a duplicate PAN card
After lodging the FIR, you can apply for a duplicate PAN card either online or offline. To apply online, visit the NSDL website or the UTIITSL website and select "Apply for new PAN card or/and changes or correction in PAN data." Fill in the required details and select the "Reprint of PAN card" option. Submit the form along with the required documents and fees.To apply offline, download the PAN card application form from the NSDL or UTIITSL website, fill in the required details, and submit the form along with the required documents and fees at the nearest NSDL or UTIITSL office.
- Track the status of your application
After submitting the application for a duplicate PAN card, you can track the status of your application online by visiting the NSDL or UTIITSL website and entering your application number.
Receive your duplicate PAN card
Once your application is processed, you will receive your duplicate PAN card at your registered address.
